NPFL: Mohammed Magin recounts Niger Tornadoes win over Lobi Stars

By Wale Mustapha
Acting Technical Adviser of Niger Tornadoes, Mohammed Magin, has expressed optimism about the team’s chances of retaining their status in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) following a significant win against Lobi Stars.
The victory, achieved on Matchday 36 of the season in Kaduna, has given the team a crucial boost in their quest to avoid relegation.
Magin led the Ikon Allah Boys to a thrilling 3-2 triumph over their North Central rivals. Goals from Clinton Japhet, Bashir Usman, and Ernest Chidiebere secured the win for the Minna-based club in what Magin described as their toughest home encounter this season.
“Well, it was a difficult game, but the most important thing is the three points and we thank God for that,” Magin said in an interview with the Tornadoes’ media team.
“Derby games are always not easy, especially playing a team like Lobi Stars, who have experienced players. As you can see, when we score and think it’s over, they get back in the game, but in the end, we got the points that matter, and we will build on that for the remaining games.”
Niger Tornadoes now sit 12th on the NPFL log with 48 points from 36 games.
They are set to face already relegated Heartland FC on Sunday in Owerri, where they will aim to continue their momentum and secure their league status for the next season.
