Doma United defender, Nelson Abiam has commended his teammates for their commitment and determination to compete with the best teams in the Nigerian league this season following a 0-0 draw with Sporting Lagos on Sunday.
The Savannah Tigers have being a revelation since they gained promotion to elite league last season finishing the abridged league ahead of other notable clubs in Group B.
Abiam had previously played for top NPFL clubs including Plateau United and Enugu Rangers joined Doma at the start of current campaign, with Akinade Onigbinde’s side picking up from where they left it this season.
“We have a really good mentality here and we’ve changed many things this season. We’re in a good way but we still have to improve a lot,” the Doma star told media.
“Personally [Never-say-die] is my mentality, and I try to show that in every ball, in every match, that is how I like my game. That is my pattern as well, to give everything that I have. We put in a lot of energy to the team and have a good attitude as well, along with passion.
“With the coach, he likes to play good football as well, which is really, really important. As I’ve said and will keep saying, football is life and you have to fight for that. You cannot give in easily [on the pitch].”
Doma United will play host to Enyimba in their next NPFL fixture at the Pantami Stadium in Gombe on Sunday.
