NPFL: Nelson Abiam leaves Kano Pillars for Enyimba

By Wale Mustapha

Kano Pillars’ defender, Nelson Abiam, has completed a move to Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side, Enyimba FC.

The 23-year-old has joined the Peoples’ Elephants on a deal that will keep him at the club until the end of the current campaign.

Abiam’s move comes after a lack of regular playing time at Kano Pillars, where he struggled to secure a spot in the starting lineup, making only seven league appearances since joining at the start of the season.

Prior to his time at Kano Pillars, Abiam enjoyed a successful stint with Doma United, where he became a fan favorite, scoring five goals and providing one assist last season.

He also played a key role in the home-based Super Eagles’ qualification for the 2024 African Nations Championship.

Abiam will be hoping for a fresh start at Enyimba and looking to make a significant impact in the remainder of the season.
