NPFL: Shooting Stars confident ahead of South-West derby against Ikorodu City

Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) have assured their supporters of a strong performance and maximum points when they take on Ikorodu City in Sunday’s highly anticipated Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) South-West Derby.

The Oluyole Warriors, who have secured just one point from their opening two league matches, are determined to bounce back from their early-season setback. Following a 0–1 defeat at home to Bayelsa United in the opener and a hard-fought draw against Bendel Insurance in Benin City last weekend, the team is eager to return to winning ways.

Speaking during an X Space session hosted by 3SC Fans TV, the club’s Sporting Director, Adepoju Tobi Samuel, expressed full confidence in the squad’s readiness to deliver.

“The boys are fully focused and determined to get the job done. The spirit in camp is very high, and we are confident of delivering all three points,” Adepoju said.

He further revealed that the team has undergone five days of intensive training under Head Coach Nurudeen Aweroro, with tactical adjustments and corrections sharpened ahead of the derby clash.

Adepoju also called on the passionate 3SC supporters to continue backing the team positively:

“We appeal to our fans to remain disciplined and maintain peace before, during, and after the match. The players are committed to making the fans proud, and with their support, we can achieve our goals this season.”

3SC will face Ikorodu City on Sunday in what promises to be a thrilling South-West Derby encounter.
