NPFL: Sunshine Stars declare two players missing

Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side, Sunshine Stars Football Club of Akure have declared two players missing.

The duo of Seidu Salisu and David Obiazor have been declared wanted by the club for leaving the club without official permission.

The two players have not resumed duties days after they were supposed to have rejoined their colleagues in training sequel to the new year’s break.

The club confirmed this in a press release on Friday.

The rest of the team are currently in Ikenne, Ogun State preparing for the second stanza of the 2024/25 NPFL season.

“Sunshine Stars warn clubs and agents not to deal with Salisu and Obiozor in the area of transfer without the club’s approval.

“The club also inform Nigeria Premier Football League that the players are still contracted to Sunshine Stars and any move by football clubs to illegally secure their services elsewhere, without due process will attract a lawsuit.”

Earlier this week, Sunshine Stars lost 3-2 to Super Eagles B team in a friendly match which took place in Ikenne.

Isaac Saviour, Anas Yusuf, and Ikouwem Utin scored for the national team.
