NWFL announces changes to Delta and Edo Queens’ Premiership home kick off times

The Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) has confirmed the change in the kick-off time of Delta Queens home games for the 2023/2024 season.

In a letter signed by NWFL Chief Operating Officer (COO), Modupe Shabi on November 16, 2023, the confirmation of an adjustment in the kick-off time for the Pearls home games was made known.

This means that Delta Queens home games at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, Delta state will be played under floodlights.

The official kick-off time for NWFL Premiership games is 4:00 pm every Wednesday but teams willing to play their games under floodlights can through a letter demanding for change of kick-off time.

Delta Queens have been playing their home games in previous seasons with 4:00 pm kick-off time. The reason for the change in the kick off time was not disclosed.

The team joined neighbours, Edo Queens which has been playing their home games under floodlight for some seasons now.

Meanwhile, NWFL also confirmed changes to Edo Queens home match kick-off time from 6:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

The team will now return to 4:00 pm traditional kick-off time for their home games at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City, Edo state.

Both teams had different fortunes on the opening day of the season with Delta Queens playing out a 0-0 draw with debutant Ekiti Queens while Edo Queens oustandingly beat FC Robo Queens 4-1 in Benin City.
