By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

The board of the Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) is working towards enhancing the visibility of the league.

To ensure this, the NWFL board, led by Chairman Ms Nkechi Obi, engaged with a key broadcasting partner, StarTimes, after the conclusion of their Annual General Assembly (AGA).

“This partnership is a vital step in our mission to bring the excitement of the league to a wider audience and showcase the talents in women’s football,” Obi said.

StarTimes Chief Operating Officer, Engr Tunde Aina stated the aim of the partnership.

He remarked that: “StarTimes is committed to delivering top quality coverage and ensuring that our viewers enjoy every moment of the women’s leagues.”

The discussions include the production and coverage of games, highlights, and strategic marketing of league content on StarTimes channels.

A draft Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is being finalized with both parties confident of concluding arrangements before the season opener on January 15, 2025.

It is anticipated that the matchday one encounter between champions, Edo Queens and Abia Angels in Benin City will kick off the broadcast partnership.
