NWFL: Florence Alexander makes realistic ambitions with Rivers Angels

Rivers Angels defender, Florence Alexander  has has expressed optimism of her team’s success in the coming Nigeria Women Football League season with the Port Harcourt outfit.
The new NWFL top flight season will commence on Tuesday with the opening fixture between Ekiti Queens and defending champions, Delta Queens while other fixtures, including Rivers clash with newly promoted Remo Stars Ladies in Ikenne will be decided on Wednesday, 15th of November.
Alexander who is in her second season with the Jewels of Rivers, is looking forward to a more competitive season even as she believed the team is in the right shape to make meaningful impact in the new season.
“I’m excited about new season and looking forward to a more successful season than my first time here, Alexander told nigeriafootball.ng in exclusive chat.
“We’ve improved better than last season, as a team and individual, the morale is high for the first game and we looking forward to a positive start, we can only pray for luck because we’ve done our part with preparation.”
Asked about the prospect of working with Coach Ogbonda Whyte for the second time after both worked together at Confluence Queens, Alexander said its a perfect reunion for and an opportunity to learn under who she described as father figure.
“I was really happy to see him joining us, he’s a great manager who understand how best to improve players,” enthused the former Sunshine Queens’ center back.
“I’m happy with the chance to add to add what I learned under Coach Okon and other coaches I’ve worked with. Coach Whyte is more than a coach, he’s a father figure and hope to give my best under him again.”
