NWFL Opens Registration for 2026 Nationwide Season, Sets ₦550,000 Fee

The Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) has officially announced the commencement of registration for the 2026 NWFL Nationwide season, inviting clubs across the country to participate in its third-tier competition.

In a statement signed by NWFL spokesman Samuel Ahmadu on April 11, 2026, the league confirmed that registration payments will open on Monday, April 13, 2026, and close on June 30, 2026.

According to Ahmadu, the registration fee for the 2026 NWFL Nationwide season has been fixed at ₦550,000. He added that clubs that featured in the 2025 edition may also be required to pay additional caution or expulsion fees, which will be communicated individually where applicable.

Also speaking, NWFL Chief Operating Officer Modupe Shabi stated that the Nationwide division remains open to all interested clubs across Nigeria, offering a vital platform for emerging teams to compete at a structured national level.

Shabi explained that the registration process will be conducted in phases. Payments are scheduled to run from April 13 to June 30, 2026, while the official registration portal will open on May 30 and close on July 10, 2026, ahead of the new season, which is expected to kick off in August.

She emphasized that the entire registration process will be handled strictly online, reflecting the league’s commitment to efficiency, transparency, and ease of access.

Relevant documents, including club licensing requirements and player registration forms, have been made available to assist participating teams through a seamless process.

Details regarding venues, match dates, and the full schedule for the 2026 season will be announced in due course.
