NWFL Premiership: Adamawa Queens coach blames long travel for Robo Queens loss

By Saheed Afolabi

Adamawa Queens coach Heman Dadeino has pointed to the team’s exhausting 48-hour road trip to Lagos as the key factor behind their 2-1 loss to Robo Queens in the NWFL Premiership.

Despite taking the lead early thanks to a defensive mistake from Robo Queens, Adamawa Queens struggled with fatigue and were ultimately overtaken in the second half, with Robo Queens scoring twice to claim the victory.

Dadeino expressed disappointment over the lack of rest for his players after the lengthy journey, saying it prevented them from performing at their best. However, she remains confident about her team’s prospects for future matches.

“Yeah, it normally happens, something affected the girls along the line,” Dadeino told nigeriafootball.ng in an exclusive interview.

“Two days journey down to Lagos, we didn’t have much time to rest. So that’s what brought about the fatigue from the girls and I know my girls played well.

“We will win our next game, even this one against Robo Queens was our match, but I will not blame the girls for what happened. If we played like this in our home, we will win our matches.”

The coach also expressed regret over the team’s lapse in concentration, which led to the late goals that sealed their defeat.

“The issue we had in the game is that the girls lost concentration in the dying minutes. They didn’t play to instructions. When we go back, we will adjust.”

Adamawa Queens currently have one point from two matches and will look to bounce back when they host Delta Queens at the Pantami Stadium on Wednesday, January 29.
