NWFL Premiership: Heartland Queens appoint Obi Ogbala as new technical adviser

Ahead of the resumption of the 2022/2023 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership, Heartland Queens has made a managerial shake-up to the team, with Obi Ogbala named the technical adviser of the side.
Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon Emeka Okoronkwo approved the appointment of the former Nasarawa Amazons, Rivers Angels, and Pelican Stars coach as the team’s technical adviser.
He replaced coach Ben Nwoke as the team’s technical adviser, while Heartland Queens assistant coach and former Nigeria International, Stella Mbachu retained her position alongside goalkeeper coach, Rosemary Nkiruka Ngoka.
The shake up also saw the appointment of Chinedu Iwu as team trainer and Henrietta Agbaere as Team Manager.
Ogbala had guided the team to the NWFL Premiership promotion at the end of the 2022 NWFL Championship in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State after two seasons in the second-tier division alongside Ibom Angels last year.
The new Technical Adviser has been given a two-match ultimatum starting from the resumption of the league after the National Elections with games against Delta Queens in Asaba and at home to Bayelsa Queens.
The Owerri side occupy the fifth position in Group A with eight points, nine points behind the leaders, Delta Queens and Ogbala will hope to help the team keep its league status after helping the team gain promotion on March 1.
