NWFL Premiership MD 11 Previews: Battle royale as Delta and Royal Queens face off
By Monsurah Olatunji

It is battle royale in the Nigeria Women’s Football League Premiership as Delta Queens visit Royal Queens in a stat-wide derby as the topflight continues with matchday 11 fixtures across six centers in the country on Wednesday.
Heartland Queens vs Bayelsa Queens:
Non-smiling and under pressure Heartland Queens will further their dogged fight to stay afloat in the premium league when they face reigning champions, Bayelsa Queens at the hallowed chambers of Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri.
It was all square between the sides in the first leg clash in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
However, the hosts will look to win the reverse leg to shore up their not-too-comfortable position on the group’s log having practically bade farewell to the season’s dreams of playing in the premium league decider, while the Prosperity Girls will hope to ink an assured spot for themselves in the elite NWFL Super 6.
The Owerri landladies are delicately placed fifth on the seven-team Group A log on eight points 12 adrift leaders, Delta Queens while the opponents, Bayelsa Queens are second on 15 points.
Royal Queens vs Delta Queens:
Group A leaders Delta Queens travel to Sapele to face off against fellow Delta bases side Royal Queens.
The visitors will hope to further extend her unbeaten run for the season, as well as sustain the record of never losing to Royal Queens.
Royal Queens will however want to salvage the day and redeem its lost glory after suffering punishment from the organizing committee for abandoning their matchday 10 fixture against Naija Ratels in the 78th minute after the center referee awarded a penalty against them.
Confluence Queens vs Adamawa Queens:
In Group B, Confluence Queens will be hosting Adamawa Queens at their Lokoja stadium.
Their previous meeting between the two teams took place in Adamawa last year and ended in a 1-0 victory for Adamawa Queens.
Confluence Queens head into this game in high spirits, looking to maintain their unbeaten run in their last six matches, after picking 16 points from the eight games.
A win for the Yahaya Bello Ladies this week will see them move to the top of group B standings and further bolster their chances of making the Super Six.
Ibom Angels vs Narawa Amazon:
Ibom Angels are set to play their last home game as they host Nasarawa Amazons at the training pitch of the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.
The Orange Ladies have six points from nine games, which puts them in the relegation playoffs zone of Group B.
Edo Queens vs FC Robo Queens:
The race for the prestigious NWFL Super Six will be fierce as Edo Queens welcomes table-topper FC Robo Queens to the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium.
The Betsy Obaseki girls suffered a 2-1 defeat to Confluence Queens FC last week in Lokoja and will hope to bounce back to winning ways in front of their home fans.
Lagos landladies on the other hand will seek back-to-back away wins after narrowly defeating Nasarawa Amazon 1-0.
While one point separates both sides, Edo Queens have played one game lesser than their visitors and will look to leapfrog to the top of the table.
