NWFL Premiership MD 6 Wrap: Bayelsa end Naija Ratels unbeaten record as Bolaji Olamide continues scoring form for Remo Stars

There are four unbeaten teams remaining after the 2024/25 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership Matchday six games on Wednesday.
For the first time in six games, Naija Ratels FC tasted defeated in the league as Bayelsa Queens pipped the Abuja-based side 2-1 in Yenegoa.
The host had the chance of going ahead in the first half through the spot kick, which caused little drama before Florence Alexander’s penalty hit the crossbar.
Against the run of play, the visitors went ahead through Adanna Nwachukwu’s header in the 71st minute.
The lead lasted two minutes before Dooshima Tarnum leveled the scoreline from a set piece.
Delight Isaac scored the winner for the Prosperity Girls in the 77th minute to seal victory for Ogbonda Whyte’s side.
In Lafia, Rivers Angels continued their unbeaten streak after a 2-0 win over Benue Queens which compounded the debutant woes of six straight losses.
Goals from Ifeoma Polinus and Mary Moses in the second half lifted the Jewels of Rivers to their fourth win of the campaign.
In Lagos, Remo Stars made it five wins from six games as the Sky Blue Ladies defeated Dannaz Ladies 2-0 in the South West derby.
Kafayat Bashiru broke the deadlock for Wemimo Mathew’s side in the 25th minute.
The league’s top goal scorer, Bolaji Olamide, scored her eighth goal of the season to seal victory for the travelers.
She has also scored in every game so far this season.
In a similar vein, holders Edo Queens beat Confluence Queens 2-0 thanks to goals from Sadiat Adebiyi and Emem Essien, condemning the host to their sixth straight loss.
Abia Angels pipped Ekiti Queens 1-0 as Chiamaka Ojialor converted the solitary goal for Adanna Nwaneri’s side in the 21st minute.
Heartland Queens continued to search for their first win of the season after a 2-0 setback against Nasarawa Amazons in Lafia.
Jenat Akekeromowei and Olushola Shobowale found the back of the net for the Solid Babes in the second half to propel them to their fourth win of the season.
In Uyo, Ibom Angels secured their second win of the season courtesy of goals from Ijeoma Onweagba, Abasiofon Uwah, and Hellen Daniel responsible for their 3-1 victory against Adamawa Queens.
Loveth Boygyande’s 21st-minute leveler for the Fintiri Queens was not enough to prevent their third loss of the season.
Former league winners, Delta Queens recorded their biggest win of the season with a 4-1 breakthrough over FC Robo Queens.
A brace from Destiny Itobor, coupled with a goal each by Goodness Ihima and Priscilla Omeje, ensured the Pearls booked their second win of the campaign.
Overall, Bayelsa Queens, Rivers Angels, Remo Stars Ladies, and Edo Queens remained the four unbeaten teams in the league ahead of Matchday seven next week.
