NWFL Premiership: Sunshine Queens official picks positive from loss to Robo Queens

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

Team Manager of Sunshine Queens, Kehinde Smith was proud of his team despite a 3-2 loss to FC Robo Queens on Wednesday.

Second-half goals from Folashade Ijamilusi, Favour Nkwocha, and Esther Onyenezide lifted the Lagos Landladies to victory.

Smith is content with the Akure-based side’s team spirit during the five-goal thriller at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos.

“To the glory of God, it was a very good game,” Smith told sports247.com

“My girls played well, and I am proud of them. We are getting there. VAR would have to be introduced on time to avoid some football glitches in the future,” he added.

“I am proud of my players, and I know that in the next match, we will carry the day.”

After a 1-1 draw with Bayelsa Queens in the league opener and Wednesday’s 3-2 loss to the Lagos Landladies, Sunshine Queens will next host Edo Queens at the Akure Township Stadium on November 29, 2023.
