NWFL Super 6: Domo Okara unsatisfied with Bayelsa Queens’ win over Robo Queens

By Wale Mustapha
Technical Adviser of Bayelsa Queens, Gomo Okara has displeasure with how his girls fared despite their 1-0 win over FC Robo Queens in the ongoing Nigeria Women Football League, NWFL Super Six playoffs on Wednesday.
Falconet’s diminutive attacker, Sebastian Flourish scared the loan goal that put the defending champions closer to a place in the final with a last group stage match against Rivers Angel to go.
Okara, who led the Prosperity ladies to a third place triumph at 2022 CAF Women’s Champions League admitted he expected more from his lads but attributed part of the struggle to high competitiveness of the tournament.
“I’m okay we won, every coach will be happy his team wins a match but performance is different which I’m not happy about,” Okara told nigeriafootball.ng in Asaba.
“Its true that the Women’s football has really improved in Nigeria, that’s why you could see such a challenging game and we find it difficult to score more, nevertheless, I believe we could have played better than we did.”
Okara has envisaged a difficult match against Rivers Angels on Friday with the mindset of winning as its the only way to qualify for the final.
“The only way to be in the final is to beat Rivers Angels, we just have to play to our best and win it because if we don’t win, we will pack our bags and go but we are very optimistic we will do our best to win.
The encounter between Rivers Angels and Bayelsa Queens will come up by 4pm while the other fixture between Edo Queens and Delta Queens will start the day’s hostilities by 10am.
