Obinna Uzoho disappointed by home draw against Bendel Insurance

By Wale Mustapha

Kun Khalifat head coach Obinna Uzoho has expressed frustration following his side’s disappointing 1-1 draw against Bendel Insurance on Sunday in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

The match, which took place at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium in Owerri on Matchday 10, saw the visitors take the lead in the first half through Kayode Oke.

However, the hosts responded after the break with an equalizer from Uche Moses to salvage a point.

Uzoho acknowledged his team’s underwhelming performance, particularly in the first half, and admitted that they failed to meet expectations.

“We started very late, and the first half was a very bad game for our team,” Uzoho said in an interview with the club’s media after the game.

“Both teams gave their all throughout the encounter, but for my players, the early goal weakened them, which showed in the game.”

The draw leaves Kun Khalifat in 14th position on the NPFL table after 10 matches, while Bendel Insurance remains in 19th place, five points adrift of their hosts.
