Obituary: Former Super Eagles goalkeeper Bidemi Aluko-Olaseni loses cancer battle

Former Nigeria goalkeeper, Bidemi Grace Ebunoluwa Aluko-Olaseni has sucummbed to death after an eight-year battle with cancer.
Bidemi Aluko-Olaseni’s football career is a testament to her exceptional talent and dedication. Having defended the goals for top Nigerian teams, her prowess on the field was undeniable.
Ekiti-born former Super Falcons save hands passed away after her role as a goalkeeper brought her not only accolades but also the deep respect of her teammates, coaches, and fans.
Beyond her sports achievements, Bidemi’s resilience in facing cancer has been a source of inspiration for many.
The Aluko family’s acknowledgment of the overwhelming support from the community underscores the impact of Bidemi’s fight and character.
The news of her death was made public on X by a social media influencer; Ekiti Baby Governor TK.
“Burial arrangements will be announced by the family. Good night our Champion,” the post on X reads.
Aluko-Olaseni played for the U-20 women’s team (Falconets), Rivers Angels, and Ekiti Queens as well Sunshine Queens, Olgar Queens, FCT Babes Alumna, and Makbet Queens.
