Odemwingie Shines Bright as Madura United Triumphs: Goal No.15 and Two Assists Propel Victory

In a dazzling display of skill and precision, former Super Eagles forward, Osaze Odemwingie, showcased his prowess by scoring a goal and contributing two assists, propelling Madura United to a commanding 3-1 home victory against Barito Putera in the Indonesian Super League on Sunday. This stellar performance comes on the heels of his goal-scoring return last weekend, after a three-month absence, in Madura United’s thrilling 4-3 away win against Persiba.
Nigerian-born Indonesian international, Greg Nwokolo, opened the scoring for Madura in the 21st minute, courtesy of an expertly set-up by Odemwingie. The first half concluded with a masterful display from Odemwingie, who not only scored in the 65th minute but also provided the assist for Fachrudin Aryanto in the closing moments of the first half, securing a 2-0 lead.
Despite a valiant effort from Barito Putera, with Rizky Rizal Ripora pulling one back in the 54th minute, Madura United’s victory was sealed as Odemwingie’s goal in the 65th minute extended their lead and secured the three points.
Odemwingie’s remarkable form this season has seen him tally an impressive 15 goals in just 22 league appearances for Madura United. This outstanding achievement places him as a key figure in Madura United’s pursuit of glory, with the team now positioned at fourth place with 60 points, a mere three points behind league leaders Bhayangkara FC.
