Former Nigeria international Odion Ighalo continued his strong form in the Saudi Pro League, scoring for Al Wehda, but his effort was not enough to prevent a 3-2 loss at home to Al Akhdoud.
Ighalo gave Al Wehda an early lead in the fifth minute, with a goal assisted by Craig Goodwin after a VAR review.
However, Al Akhdoud responded strongly. Christian Bassogog leveled the score in the 32nd minute, and just four minutes later, Ibrahima Kone put the visitors ahead.
The situation worsened for Al Wehda when Jawad El Yamiq scored an own goal, giving Al Akhdoud a 3-1 advantage by halftime.
In the second half, Goodwin pulled one back for Al Wehda in the 58th minute, but despite continued efforts, they were unable to find an equalizer, and the game ended 3-2 in favor of Al Akhdoud.
Ighalo played the full 90 minutes, and despite his goal, Al Wehda remain in 16th position, one point behind their opponents.
