Odion Ighalo’s wx-wife Sonia Adesuwa seeks refund of bride price amid ongoing Saga

The drama between former Super Eagles star Odion Ighalo and his ex-wife Sonia Adesuwa continues to unfold as she publicly demands a refund of her bride price.
Their relationship has been marked by years of dramatic social media exchanges, but there has been no official confirmation of their divorce despite their long separation.
Recently, Sonia issued a heartfelt apology to Ighalo, expressing regret for her past public criticisms, including allegations of infidelity. However, this apology quickly escalated into a demand for the return of her bride price.
In a passionate Instagram story, Sonia recounted grievances from their traditional marriage, stressing perceived disrespect from Ighalo’s family towards her father and the financial waste she experienced during their wedding plans.
She accused Ighalo’s family of failing to attend crucial events, despite significant expenses incurred for the ceremony.
Sonia stated, “Make plans to collect your bride price. Remember when I planned this three or four years ago, but your family did not turn up? After planning a lovely farewell party with lots of food and entertainment, you all wasted my money.”
She further detailed her father’s role as the sole sponsor of their traditional marriage and recalled how Ighalo’s family members allegedly disrespected him and his elders by keeping them waiting.
Sonia insisted that Ighalo send representatives, including his brother or Sir Clement Ighalo, to reclaim the bride price, making it clear that she is not backing down from her demands.
“Domo Sir,” she concluded, reinforcing her seriousness in the matter.
