OFFICIAL: Chinwendu Ihezuo joins Osinachi Ohale at Pachuca

Nigeria forward, Chinwendu Ihezuo has completed her switch from the Mexican side, Monterrey to another team from the same country, Pachuca.

The former Guangdong Meizhou player arrives at the ‘Bella Airosa’ from the Rayadas de Monterrey, to shore up the Hidalgo women’s team that will compete in the Clausura 2024 of the Liga BBVA MX Women.

She also arrives to complete the foreign spots of the Pachuca Femenil Club for the competition.

Ihezuo becomes the second player originally from Nigeria to play with the Tuzas. after the 4-time FIFA Women’s World Cup player, Osinachi Ohale who arrived six months ago.

“I feel really good, I’m really excited to be here. I’m looking forward to start training and playing for this amazing club,” she explained after completing her switch.

“I think this is a great club for me to come in and try to show what I can do and try to help the team to achieve more beautiful moments than they already did in the past years.

“I’m really thankful that everybody is giving me such a warm welcome, including my sister, Osinachi and I’m really looking forward to a great season here.”

The 26-year-old player played for Delta Queens in the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership from 2014 to 2015 before moving abroad to join Kazakhstan side, BIIK Kazygurt from 2016 to 2018.

She moved to China where she first signed for Henan Jianye, a team she played for from 2019 to 2020, and moved to another Chinese team, Meizhou Hakka playing there from 2021 to 2023 from where she joined Monterrey in 2023.

The Super Falcons player spent two seasons with Monterrey scoring ten goals in 33 league games.

At the national team level, she represented Nigeria U-17 and U-20 categories with a runner-up medal at Canada 2014 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

She won the silver boot for the second-highest goal scorer at the Azerbaijan 2012 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup with a total of six goals as she scored five of the six in a match.

With the Super Falcons, she has played about six games for the team and was a member of the 2018 side that won the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
