OFFICIAL: Coby Ebere signs Everton contract extension until 2027

By Oluwadamilola Olaleye

Everton have confirmed that midfielder Coby Ebere, who is of Nigerian descent, has signed a new two-year contract extension with the club, keeping him at Goodison Park until June 2027.

The 20-year-old, who signed his first professional contract three years ago, is expected to play a more prominent role for the Toffees’ Under-21 side and push for a first-team breakthrough in the upcoming season.

Speaking to evertonfc.com, Ebere expressed his excitement about the new deal, especially after a challenging spell on the sidelines.

“I’m buzzing to extend my deal, based on the fact I’ve had a hard 18 months,” he said. “It shows the club has got faith in me – and I know I can repay it.”

Ebere also credited Everton Under-21s manager Paul Tait for his support in his recovery and development: “Taity has been really good with me, working in detail and getting me back to where I need to be.”

Looking ahead, Ebere is focused on building momentum: “The aim now is to get as many games as possible and get as close to the first team as I can.”

Born in Germany, Ebere is eligible to represent either Nigeria or England at international level.

His continued development at Everton will be closely watched by both nations.
