By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership winner with Delta Queens, Fehintola Mabokanje, has completed her switch to Serbia side Red Star Belgrade.

The defender joined Red Star Belgrade from NWFL Premiership side, Bayelsa Queens.

She opened a year-and-a-half deal with the Serbian outfit alongside Ghanaian player Philomena Abakah.

The defender got down to business immediately with her new teammates upon arrival in Serbia as the Club prepared for the UEFA Women’s Champions League (UWCL) Qualifiers against Belgian side Anderlecht on September 4.

Mabokanje was part of Delta Queen’s side, which edged Bayelsa Queens 2-1 to win the 2022/2023 NWFL Premiership title.

She also featured for the Pearls in their failed quest to qualify for the CAF Women’s Champions League at the end of the 2023 West Africa Zone B (WAFU-B) Women’s Champions League Qualifiers.

Last season, she moved to Bayelsa Queens which finished third at the end of the 2024 NWFL Premiership Super Six in Yenegoa.

Her move to Serbia was masterminded by London-based Nigerian agent, Christian Sylvester and Olubunmi Saheed Balogun.
