OFFICIAL: Kano Pillars unveil former Sporting Lagos gaffer Paul Offor as new manager

By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde
The management of Kano Pillars, have announced the signing of Paul Offor as the new head coach of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) outfit.
The former Sporting Lagos boss was unveiled at a colorful ceremony on Friday, with his arrival at Pillars coming after Abdu Maikaba’s dismissal by the board.
Maikaba had guided the Sai Masu Gida to an 11th-place finish at the end of the 2023/2024 league campaign.
Offor masterminded Sporting Lagos’ promotion from the second-tier Nigeria National League (NNL) to the country’s top-flight. He was dismissed from the Lagos-based side with a few games left in the 2023/2024 NPFL season, but this couldn’t prevent them from relegation to the NNL.
Kano Pillars, one of the most successful teams in the history of Nigerian football, sees Offor’s appointment as a strategic move to rejuvenate the team and build on their storied legacy.
His proven track record with Sporting Lagos and his ability to foster young talent make him a valuable addition to the club. The four-time league winners, Pillars, hope to return to the glory days of domestic dominance and participation on the continent, notably making it to the semifinal of the CAF Champions League in 2009.
