Nigeria international Ola Aina has made history by becoming the first defender to surpass 100 points in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) this season.
Aina’s landmark achievement came after his stellar performance in Nottingham Forest’s thrilling 3-2 victory over Southampton.
The defender played a key role in securing the win, assisting Chris Wood for Forest’s third goal and producing a crucial goal-line clearance to deny Southampton a late equalizer.
His all-around contribution not only helped Nottingham Forest maintain their impressive form but also earned Aina four points for Gameweek 22, bringing his total to 101 points.
This makes him the highest-scoring defender in the league thus far. With 101 points, Aina is now ranked as the 14th highest-scoring player overall in FPL this season.
His achievement places him alongside his Super Eagles teammate Alex Iwobi, who has accumulated 103 points, as one of only two Nigerians in the top 15 players.
The official Fantasy Premier League (FPL) social media account celebrated the milestone, tweeting, “The first defender to reach 100 points this season @NFFC’s Ola Aina is having an excellent season.”
Fans were quick to recognize Aina’s remarkable form, with some dubbing him the “Mo Salah of defenders” and others hailing him as “the best fullback in the world.”
Aina’s historic feat underscores his standout season and solidifies his reputation as one of the Premier League’s top defenders.
