Ola Aina Optimistic About Hull’s Form, Ready for Versatile Role

Nigeria international Ola Aina has expressed satisfaction with Hull City’s recent performances, highlighting the positive momentum they’ve gained from their last two fixtures heading into Saturday’s home clash against Bristol City in the Championship. Following a challenging period that saw the Tigers lose three consecutive games before the international break, they have rebounded with commendable draws against Ipswich Town and Millwall.

Speaking to Hull City’s official website, Aina emphasized the team’s improved display, especially in their clean sheet against Millwall at the New Den. He stated, “I think there are certainly more positives than negatives from the last two games. We have taken points from both games, we kept a clean sheet against Millwall, and overall the team has put in a shift.”

Aina, who has demonstrated versatility by switching from his customary right-back position to the left side of the defense, remains unfazed by the adjustment. He remarked, “It’s the same really and I don’t see too much of a difference. I feel comfortable on the left, as I do on the right, and I still look to take the opportunity to get forward when I can. It felt like I had a lot of space in that sense on Tuesday night, and I enjoyed that.”

The Super Eagles star praised the team’s resilience against Millwall, acknowledging the challenges of playing at a tough venue. Looking ahead to the upcoming clash with Bristol City, Aina expressed optimism, stating, “Saturday could well see Aina continue on the left side of the Tigers’ defence… It wasn’t a bad team performance, and now we’re just looking forward to Bristol City on Saturday.”
