Nigeria defender Oluwatosin Demehin and her Turkish side, Galatasaray, are gearing up for a formidable challenge in the 2024/2025 UEFA Women’s Champions League.
In a tough draw, the team will compete in Group A against eight-time Champions League champions Lyon, two-time winners Wolfsburg, and Italian league champions AS Roma.
Galatasaray secured their spot in the group stage by narrowly defeating Slavia Prague 3-2 on aggregate. Demehin will proudly represent Nigeria after the early exits of fellow Nigerians Jennifer Echegini (PSG), Chiamaka Nnadozie (Paris FC), and Christy Ucheibe (SL Benfica).
Asisat Oshoala remains the only Nigerian and African player to lift the UEFA Women’s Champions League trophy, having achieved this with FC Barcelona in 2021, 2023, and 2024.
