Galatasaray VP Kavukcu: Osimhen Has Silenced Critics After ‘Crazy Investment’ Claims

The vice president of Turkish Süper Lig giants Galatasaray S.K., Abdullah Kavukcu, has opened up on the doubts that trailed the signing of Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen, insisting the striker has silenced his critics with a string of outstanding performances.

Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Kavukcu revealed that many questioned the club’s decision to invest heavily in the Super Eagles star when he arrived last summer on a permanent deal.

“When we bought him, a lot of people said it was a crazy investment,” Kavukcu said.

However, the Galatasaray chief maintained that Osimhen has justified every penny spent on him, adding that his market value has since soared on the back of his impressive displays.

“Victor has proved everyone wrong because his value has doubled,” he added.

Osimhen once again underlined his importance on Wednesday night when he played a decisive role in helping Galatasaray overcome Italian giants Juventus F.C. in the UEFA Champions League, reinforcing his reputation as one of the most lethal strikers in European football. “We know he’s one of the best strikers in the world, and we’re excited to do big things together,” Kavukcu concluded.

The 25-year-old’s consistent performances continue to strengthen his standing both at club level and within the Nigerian national team setup, as Galatasaray push for domestic and continental success.
