Olympic Eagles humble by VIA Football Academy in friendly ahead of Tanzania tie

The Nigeria’s U23 national team popularly called the Dream Team lost their first test match to VIA Football Academy of Ibadan on Thursday.
The team coached by Salisu Yusuf embarrassingly succumbed to a 3-0 defeat at the hands of the Via Football Academy in a game played at the Lekan Stadium, Ibadan.
Coach Yusuf intend to use the test game to asses players that have been invited to camp but it turned out to be disastrous in the Ancient City of Ibadan.
The result may have spell doom for the team who are expected to be in top shape but met with unexpected upset from VIA.
The Academy Boys ensured that the Nigeria U23 defence knew no respite as they threatened on multiple occasions with attempts at goal.
The Nigeria U23 team began camping in Ibadan on Monday in preparation for their 2023 Africa U23 Cup of Nations qualifying fixture against Tanzania this month.
The result will go a long way to assist Coach Yusuf in identifying areas of need to make necessary adjustment and to ascertain how ready some players can fit in to the game plans.
