Omowunmi Oshobukola makes winning debut for Medyk Konin over Czarni Sosnowiec

Former Nigeria junior international, Omowunmi Oshobukola had a winning start to her career with Medyk Konin in a 2-0 win over Czarni Sosnowiec in a Polish Ekstraliga encounter on Saturday.

With a 2-0 loss to GKS Katowice during the last league game, the host had to respond and got their campaign off to a right start with an early goal.

Polish midfielder, Patrycja Ziemba broke the deadlock for the host in the second minute of play at the Stadion im.Zlotej Jedenastki, Konin.

She doubled the lead in the additional minutes of the second half to seal a hard-fought 2-0 win.

Oshobukola who played her first-ever game for the Polish side saw full 90 minutes.

She joined the club from Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership side, Edo Queens.

The win lifted Medyk Konin to the seventh position on the table with six points in six games.

Up next for Medyk Konin is a league encounter against Stomilanki Olsztyn on October 5, 2023.
