Osogbo Township Stadium Project Manager promises completion ahead of schedule

The renovation of the Osogbo Township Stadium is progressing significantly, with steady work ongoing. On Tuesday, February 4, 2025, a group of sports enthusiasts and media representatives inspected the project and expressed confidence that the facility would be ready within the projected timeline.

The major renovation of this multi-purpose sports facility is expected to be fully completed within the 12-month completion period.

According to Arc. John Ewule, the Project Manager, the two outdoor pitches are anticipated to be ready for use by May 2025. The project is being carried out by Maxwell International Ventures Limited.

Heavy equipment such as cranes, bulldozers, cement trucks, drilling rigs, and hauling trucks are currently deployed at the construction site, ensuring swift progress on this state-of-the-art facility.

“This is a complete renovation of the entire stadium,” Arc. John Ewule stated while addressing the media. He added, “Among the upgrades will be a state-of-the-art scoreboard, an ultra-modern VIP section, improved field lighting, updated seating, and new concession areas.”

He emphasized that this ambitious project reflects Governor Ademola Adeleke’s commitment to sports development, talent discovery, and economic growth in Osun State. The stadium will not only serve as a sporting hub but will also include hostels to accommodate athletes and visiting teams, ultimately generating revenue for the state.

The Project Manager reiterated his confidence in meeting the completion timeline, highlighting that the renovated stadium will create year-round multi-use opportunities to enhance sports, entertainment, and economic development in Osun State.

Upon completion, the Osogbo Township Stadium will feature:

– Two artificial turf fields

– One natural grass pitch

– A multipurpose indoor sports hall

– Two tartan tracks

– A squash court

– A swimming pool

– Hostels and a hotel
