Former Chelsea player and legend Didier Drogba visits Lagos state Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in Nigeria.

Drogba, a key supporter of the sport in Africa, met with the Lagos State Government to discuss opportunities for young athletes in the country.

He wants to partner with the Lagos state government to boost Lagos’s reputation in global sports.

The Ivorian is also in Lagos to collaborate with the state Governor in promoting the E1 World Championship, an electric boat racing series.

The E1 race is set to take place in Lagos in September, making it the first city to host the competition.

Apart from the partnership attached to the meeting, it also hoped to introduce boat racing to Africa and boost Lagos’s recognition in global sports.
