Owolabi Aremu reflects on memorable maiden NPFL switch to Kwara United

Owolabi Aremu is optimistic about the hitting the ground running for Kwara United in the remainder of the current season in the Nigeria Premier Football League.
The Harmony Boys signed Aremu from Kebbi United at the start of the 2023 season and the forward is heavily motivated to improve on his personal best in the colour of the Ilorin based club.
With just three appearances for Kwara this season, the young striker, who reflected on his career journey from the Benin Republic topflight, has no regrets making his first ever topflight switch to the Kwara Sports Stadium outfit.
“Playing for Kwara United is a great feeling for me and a dream come true,” Aremu told Owosports.
“I really love football I have always wanted to be a footballer since I was little and started playing football since I was six. Since then, my dream for football has been very big and when I was ten I started playing with older men and that gave me confident.
“As soon as I was done with secondary school, I was more focused on football and later joined an academy team called Omoluabi FC and also played for Gasa FA, and from there I went to play league in Benin Republic.
“I came back to Nigeria to play an amateur one with Gidado FC and after then I move to Kebbi United before recently joining Kwara United. My progression has been amazing.
“My time at Kebbi United was great and nice, I was shown love from the fan and management because I helped the team to gain promotion from amateur one to NNL and throughout my four season I was always the top goalscorer.
“I was still there highest goal scorer and through my hard work I was really loved by the team and they are a great people to me and they treat me like family.”
Kwara United are on the eighth position in the NPFL group A with nine points from nine matches and will face El Kanemi Warriors in the reverse fixture when the league resumes on the 25th of March 2023.
