The screening exercise, spearheaded by Head Coach Akinwunmi Obajimi Isogun, began at the training pitch of the Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Adamasingba, Ibadan on Wednesday.

Over 40 players from Oyo, Lagos, Ogun, Osun, Ondo, and Ekiti States participated in the opening day’s session.

The trials, scheduled to run until August 22, 2025, are expected to attract more talented footballers from across Nigeria.

Coach Isogun expressed satisfaction with both the turnout and the quality of players, stating:

“We are confident of building a squad with the right blend of quality, professionalism, and league experience before the end of this programme.”

He also confirmed that more players from different parts of the country are expected to join the trials on Thursday as the exercise enters its second day.
