Paris 2024 Olympics: Asisat Oshoala upbeat on Super Falcons impressive showing

Nigeria international Asisat Oshoala is optimistic that the national team will prove critics wrong at the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
The Bay FC forward said the Super Falcons were written off before the start of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, but they demonstrated their prowess by reaching the round of 16 against top sides.
However, she’s certain the Falcons have a youthful side that will be a handful for opponents to handle.
“At the World Cup last year, people said the same thing,” Oshoala was quoted by FIFA.
“They said we were in the Group of Death [with Australia, Canada, and the Republic of Ireland] and could not qualify. But we did.
“I have a lot of confidence in this team. We have many young players and we can make things difficult for our opponents. We don’t just think about getting out of the group; I think we can actually walk away with a medal.”
Nigeria will open their campaign at the Olympics against Brazil in Bordeaux.
