Paris 2024: Time and where to watch Nigeria vs Brazil

By Monsurah Olatunji
The Nigeria women’s national team kick off their Olympic journey against Brazil on July 25th in Group C.
Facing tough opponents in Brazil, Spain, and Japan, Nigeria will need to deliver top-notch performances to advance to the knockout stages in their return to the Olympic for the first time in sixteen years.
It’s noteworthy that the last Olympic match played by the Super Falcons was against Brazil at the 2008 edition in Beijing in a game that ended 3-1 in favour of the Selecao Samba Queens.
The nine-time African champions scored first but couldn’t hold on to the victory as they conceded three times to end on the losing side.
However, the team remain undefeated in competitive matches since the World Cup where they reached the knockout stages undefeated before losing on penalties against England.
Brazil, however, have a strong Olympic history, having won gold in 1996 and silver in 2004 and 2008.
Meanwhile, Nigeria’s best Olympic women’s football tournament outing was in Athens 20 years ago when the Super Falcons reached the quarterfinals.
Setting the stage for their return to the Olympics, Nigeria will be seeking revenge on Brazil whom they last played sixteen years ago.
However, the Super Falcons lost to Canada in their preparatory fixture heading into this game.
The match between Nigeria and Brazil will take place at the Bordeaux Stadium in France on Thursday, July 25, 2024.
With the kickoff set for 6 PM Nigerian time, the match will be broadcasted live on Multichoice sports channels (Supersport).
