Trabzonspor striker Paul Onuachu will be aiming to open his scoring account against Galatasaray when both sides meet at Papara Park as club football resumes after the international break.
The highly anticipated Süper Lig encounter offers another opportunity for the Nigerian forward to extend his remarkable goalscoring form this season.
Since joining Trabzonspor from Southampton FC last summer, Onuachu has been in sensational form, registering 21 goals and two assists in just 24 league appearances.
His outstanding performances have seen him rise to the top of the scoring chart, ahead of notable names such as Victor Osimhen, Mauro Icardi, Eldor Shomurodov of Istanbul Basaksehir, and Anderson Talisca of Fenerbahce.
Despite his prolific run, the Nigeria striker is yet to score against Galatasaray this season. He was kept quiet in their previous meeting at Rams Park, which ended in a goalless draw.
That fixture remains one of the few occasions where the towering forward has failed to find the net, and he will be eager to change that narrative this weekend.
Interestingly, Onuachu has also failed to score in multiple encounters against Adana Demirspor and Eyüpspor—the only other teams he has faced more than once without finding the back of the net.
Heading into the clash, Onuachu will be determined to break his Galatasaray duck and further underline his dominance in the Turkish top flight while helping Trabzonspor secure a crucial result in front of their home supporters.
