Nigeria talisman Paul Onuachu couldn’t find the back of the net on his first action of the English Premier League as Southampton suffered a heavy defeat in the hands of Brentford losing 3-0 to Brentford.
Making his first debut for the Saints, Onuachu was a constant threat to the defense of Brentford as he couldn’t find the back of the net in an embarrassing loss to the club at Gtech Community stadium.
Ben Mee and Nbeumo gave the The Bees a two goal lead in the first 45 minutes of play.
Onuachu was introduced to the game in the 47th minute but could not rescue his side from defeat as Jesen compounded Southampton woes in the game as they banged in their third goal in the 80th minute.
Southampton will face Wolves on the 11th of February in a game that they need to win to keep their survival hopes alive and will bank on the Nigerian to stay up in subsequent matches.
The Saints have been in the Premier League for a total of 18 seasons as they got relegated last in the 2004/2005 season and got promoted back to the English topflight in the 2011/2012 season.
