Premier League: Joe Aribo, Paul Onuachu get new manager at Southampton

By Wale Mustapha

Nigerian internationals, Joe Aribo and Paul Onuachu will be working with a new manager at their Premier League club side, Southampton following the appointment of Ruben Selles on a permanent basis.

The Saints have experienced a torrid season, sitting bottom of the log with only 18 points to show from 23 matches, with the dismal runs leading to the sackings of two managers in Ralph Hassenhutttl and Nathan Jones.

They have been without a permanent coach since they sack Jones early February with Selles asked to step in on an interim capacity and the Spaniard guided the team to a big win against Chelsea in his first game.

Southampton have announced that Selles will take over the job permanently till the end of the season.

Southampton Football Club can today confirm that Rubén Sellés has been appointed as Men’s First Team Manager until the end of the 2022/23 season,” as said on the club’s website.

Aribo joined Southampton last summer from Rangers while Onuachu joined in January from Belgian side, Genk.

While Onuachu has played just one game under the Spanish tactician, Aribo is waiting to feature for the relegation battlers.
