Qatar 2022 is best platform for African football to proof its worth – Sunday Oliseh

Former Nigeria international Sunday Oliseh believes the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup is providing a huge opportunity to talents and teams from Africa to raise their pedigree on the pitch on the global stage.
Oliseh, who is in Doha as one of the FIFA’s Technical Study Group for the World Cup feels that the ongoing mundial is the best stage for African representatives to show their enormous qualities.
The former Super Eagles coach, who is regarded as one of the Nigeria greats to have played in the World Cup insists  that Africa and South American football added more entertainment to the sports amidst its business impact.
“Without us (Africa) there’s not football, football is an entertainment, yes its a sports, but its a huge  business now,” Oliseh told Supersport in an interview.
“And again looking at its diversity, the way football comes to African and South American, we are fast improving and its time we get our acts together.”
The former Juventus and Borrusia Dortmund midfielder is working alongside the likes of Jurgen Klinnsman, Alberto Zaccheroni, Andreas Gonzalez, Jean Zubi, Cha Bum-kun and Faryd Mondagon on the FIFA techincal team.
And Oliseh expressed delight to be chosen among the arrays of football expert which he described as an added impetus for African football.
“I feel very proud of the group and to be part of it, importantly so that our continent isn’t left out, its good to be part of this that Africa is given the chance to contribute to global development of the game, because the group is doing a lot of work for world football at large,” he added.
