Rafiu Durosinmi in transfer tug of war as Viktoria Plzeň block Gent move

By Oluwadamilola Olaleye

Nigerian striker Rafiu Durosinmi finds himself at the centre of a transfer standoff after Viktoria Plzeň rejected an offer from Belgian side KAA Gent this summer.

Gent are keen to secure the 21-year-old’s services and have already submitted a formal bid, but the Czech outfit swiftly dismissed the proposal, insisting it fell short of their valuation.

Durosinmi, determined to force through the move, has made his stance clear by refusing to participate in training sessions, putting further pressure on his current employers.

According to Transfermarkt, the forward is currently valued at €7 million, yet he has only one year left on his contract and has already turned down talks over an extension. That leaves Plzeň with a difficult decision: cash in now or risk losing him on a free transfer next summer.

With tensions rising and Gent expected to return with an improved offer, the saga promises to be one of the most closely watched in the Czech Fortuna Liga this transfer window.
