Rangers 1-0 Esperança: Nigeria champions earn slim Champions League first leg lead

Rangers International FC secured a crucial 1-0 victory over Sagrada Esperança in the first leg of the CAF Champions League Second Preliminary Round.
Kazeem Ogunleye scored the decisive goal in the 77th minute at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, giving Rangers a slim advantage heading into the second leg.
This narrow win mirrors their performance in the previous round, where they also won 1-0 in the first leg against US Zilimadjou of Comoros Island, with both legs played at the same venue.
The second leg is scheduled for September 22, 2024, and Rangers will be aiming to protect their lead to advance to the next stage of the competition.
The aggregate winner will progress further in the CAF Champions League.
