Rasheedat Ajibade Foundation launches Scholarship Scheme for Nigerian students

By Oluwadamilola Olaleye
The Rasheedat Ajibade Foundation has launched a new scholarship initiative aimed at supporting underprivileged Nigerian students in both secondary schools and universities.
The program, titled the “Back 2 School Scholarship,” will provide full or partial tuition coverage to selected students who demonstrate strong academic potential and genuine financial need.
Founded by Super Falcons captain and Paris Saint-Germain forward, Rasheedat Ajibade, the initiative reflects her ongoing commitment to education, youth empowerment, and community development across Nigeria.
According to the foundation, the scholarship is designed to ease the financial strain that often forces many students to discontinue their studies.
Unlike larger government or institutional schemes, the application process is deliberately straightforward, requiring no entrance exams or lengthy interviews.
Selection will be based primarily on financial need and the completeness of applications. Successful recipients will receive direct financial grants to cover school-related expenses, as well as support for WAEC, NECO, or JAMB registration fees, alongside tuition assistance for secondary and tertiary education.
Beyond financial aid, beneficiaries will also gain access to the foundation’s mentorship network, which offers guidance in leadership, sports, and community development — including opportunities for direct mentorship from Ajibade herself.
The foundation says its long-term goal is to promote sustainable educational access while nurturing the next generation of Nigerian leaders. Outstanding beneficiaries may have their scholarships renewed based on academic performance and commitment.
Through this initiative, Rasheedat Ajibade continues to leverage her platform as a professional athlete to inspire hope and create opportunities for young Nigerians, using education as a tool to transform lives and strengthen communities.
