Rasheedat Ajibade wins Spanish Liga F Player of the Month for September

Nigeria forward Rasheedat Ajibade has been named the Liga F Player of the Month for September 2024, following an outstanding performance for Atletico Madrid.

The Super Falcons captain had an impressive September, scoring five goals and providing two assists in just four league appearances. This remarkable form earned her the prestigious award.

Ajibade, now in her fifth season with Atletico Madrid after joining from Norwegian side Avaldnes, has been pivotal in the club’s push for the league title and a return to continental football.

Last season, she scored the decisive goal that secured their spot in the UEFA Women’s Champions League (UWCL) Qualifiers for this season.

As of now, Atletico Madrid sits in second place in Liga F, tied on 15 points with Real Madrid. They are three points ahead of reigning champions FC Barcelona, who have one match in hand.
