By Dayo Awoniyi
Hull City is on the cusp of securing a major signing, as Super Eagles defender Semi Ajayi is poised to join the Tigers on a free transfer.
Ajayi’s six-year stint with West Bromwich Albion came to an end last month, leaving him a free agent.
The experienced center back, who has made 177 appearances for the Baggies, scoring 13 goals and registering three assists, is expected to bring much-needed defensive depth to Hull City.
According to Hull Daily Mail, the Tigers view Ajayi as a strong addition to their squad and are eager to finalize the deal.
Ajayi’s impressive resume includes a stint with Rotherham United, where he earned promotion to the Championship, and a call up to the Nigerian national team, where he has earned 43 caps.
His experience and leadership skills will undoubtedly be a valuable asset to Hull City as they prepare for the upcoming season.
With Ajayi’s signing imminent, Hull City fans can look forward to a strengthened defence and a promising new season.
