Ryan Alebiosu Eyes Strong Finish with Blackburn After Missing Super Eagles Call-Up

Ryan Alebiosu says he and his Blackburn Rovers teammates are refreshed and ready for the decisive final stretch of the EFL Championship season following the international break.

The defender remained in England during the two-week break after being left out of the Super Eagles squad for their friendlies in Antalya against the Iran national football team and Jordan national football team.

Head coach Eric Chelle opted to include only one natural right-back in his 23-man squad, with Bright Osayi-Samuel preferred in the pecking order, leaving Alebiosu out.

Looking ahead, Blackburn face a hectic Easter schedule, starting with a clash against Birmingham City—featuring Osayi-Samuel—at St. Andrew’s on Friday, before hosting West Bromwich Albion on Monday, April 6.

Speaking to RoversTV, Alebiosu stressed the importance of the run-in, insisting the team must treat every remaining fixture like a final.

“It’s been key because we’d had a long run heading into the break, which has been full of a lot of ups and a lot of downs,” he said. “The break has given us a bit of a breather and we’re ready to get going again for seven important games.”

He also pointed to recent positive results as a confidence boost, including a draw against Middlesbrough and a win over Millwall.

“Winning against Millwall and getting a point against a tough opponent like Middlesbrough has lifted the mood. We believe we can get something from any game,” he added.

Blackburn’s run-in also includes fixtures against Stoke City, Coventry City, Sheffield United, Southampton FC, and Leicester City as they push to finish the season strongly.
