Nigeria winger Samuel Chukwueze has expressed his delight after making his first start for Fulham in their hard-fought 2–1 away victory against Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.

Chukwueze, who joined Fulham on loan from AC Milan last summer, delivered a lively performance on the right flank and played an influential role in helping the Cottagers secure a crucial result in London.

Speaking after the match, the winger praised the team’s fighting spirit and strong mentality

“They push me really hard in training and keep me motivated. We are so proud of the result today. We worked for it on the training pitch.”

Chukwueze also highlighted the effort put in by the entire squad, especially in the final stages when Tottenham piled on pressure.

“The players gave everything on the field. We had to defend with our lives. This win is very, very important.”

The Nigerian star admitted he had not expected to start the game but credited his perseverance and focus for earning the opportunity.

“I wasn’t expecting it today. But I was focused on doing the hard work. The last months have been a bit difficult, but I kept my head down and kept working. I took the opportunity today.”

Chukwueze has now provided three assists in six Premier League appearances for Fulham, showing increasing confidence and consistency as he adapts to English football.

Following his impressive first start, the winger will hope to retain his place in the starting XI as Fulham continues its push for a stronger position on the Premier League table.
