Former Nigeria international Tijani Babangida believes Sao Tome and Principe doesn’t have requisite defense to stop the strikers of the country when they clash at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo.
The first leg saw Sao Tome shipping in ten goals from the Super Eagles at the Stade Adrar in Morocco last year.
Following the big win, the Atlanta 96 Olympic gold medalist ruled out the possibility of the True Patriots causing any upset to Nigeria at the Nest of Champions, stressing that the Super Eagles will win comfortably without any hitches.
“Yes, impossible is nothing in football. But then, I don’t think Sao Tome can cause any upset against the Super Eagles,” Babangida told Complete Sports.
“The caliber of players in the team is capable of scoring goals and it will be difficult for Sao Tome to cope with the quality of strikers in our team. I expect a good game and I know the Super Eagles will win and win well on Sunday.”
Nigeria will be fighting to keep their pride in place as table toppers when they trade tackles with Sao Tome in their last AFCON qualifiers.
