Nigeria-eligible striker Toyosi Olusanya played a key role in St. Mirren’s 2-1 victory over Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership, scoring the opening goal in the 20th minute.
Olusanya capitalized on a hesitant Aberdeen defense, outmuscling the center-backs before coolly slotting the ball past goalkeeper Dimitar Mitov.
St. Mirren could have extended their lead before halftime, with Olusanya threatening again inside the box but firing just over the crossbar.
Although Aberdeen equalized early in the second half through Jamie McGrath, St. Mirren regained control, and Taylor’s late strike sealed the win in the 85th minute.
Olusanya, born in England to Nigerian parents, has now scored five goals in the Premiership this season, more than any other St. Mirren player.
Despite being eligible to represent both England and Nigeria, the 27-year-old has yet to feature for either nation.
With the win, St. Mirren extended their unbeaten run to four games, their longest streak since a seven-match unbeaten run earlier this season.
