By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

Nigeria player, Sunday Abigail was on target as Gintra recorded a 2-0 win over FK Saned in the Lithuanian women’s league encounter.

The host got off to a flying start with the first goal of the match in the 25th minute.

Rachel Diodati opened the scoring for Gintra from the penalty spot.

Sunday doubled the lead for her side two minutes before the end of the game.

She played for the duration of the match as her club move close to another league title.

Gintra top the log with 26 points after ten games, four points ahead of MFA Zalgiris.

With two games to the end of the campaign, Gintra is in pole position to retain its title.

Last season, the team won the title with Nigeria’s duo of Vivian Ikechukwu and Koku Damilola.

The two Nigerians have since moved on, with Vivian joining Besiktas in Turkey while Koku returned home to play for Bayelsa Queens in the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership.
